At Midtown Dermatology lasers and IPL are used to treat a variety of cosmetic skin conditions such as wrinkles, acne, scars or removal of unwanted hair.
Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) - Face Treatment
IPL (intense pulsed light) is used to treat brown spots, redness, and pigmentation for a more even tone. Lumenis M22 is a more targeted form of IPL, using green light to specifically target skin tone + color. If you have never received an IPL treatment before, please schedule a consultation to determine if you are a good candidate, as this is not a fit for all skin types.
Laser Genesis
Refresh. Regenerate. Glow. This non-invasive, non-ablative laser treatment gently heats the middle layer of the skin to stimulate collagen remodeling. This stimulation improves rosacea, acne scarring, texture, pore size as well as fine lines and wrinkles. Laser Genesis provides a vibrant glow and overall healthier looking skin after just one treatment; however, we recommend a series of 6 to achieve ultimate anti-aging results and a healthy-looking complexion.
Cutera ExcelV - Vascular Laser
Cutera ExcelV is the gold standard vascular laser. This is primarily used for redness on the face, such as telangiectasias (small, widened blood vessels on the skin) rosacea, as well as treating angiomas and venous lakes.
Laser Hair Reduction
Laser hair reduction reduces the amount of unwanted hair. The laser sends beams of light (heat) through the skin which is then absorbed by the colored part of the hair. The heat then destroys the hair follicle. The damage done to the follicle itself makes it harder and harder for hair to grow. All hair grows in cycles, so repeated treatments are necessary to destroy all the hair follicles. You can expect a 10-25% reduction of hair each treatment. Please make a consultation for this service to discuss the number of treatments and pricing of areas wanting treatment.
CO2 Laser
Carbon dioxide laser resurfacing treats sun damage, wrinkles, scars, warts, and other skin conditions. It stimulates the growth of new collagen fibers, which makes the treated skin appear clearer, smoother and tighter. This treatment does require a consultation as it is not ideal for all skin types and conditions, and post treatment care is crucial to efficacy. Timing related to sun exposure must also be carefully planned.
